Location - Cape TownRegarded as one of the most beautiful cities in the world, Cape Town is instantly recognizable by the famous backdrop of a table-shaped mountain. Cape Town was originally developed as a resting station for Dutch ships sailing to Eastern Africa, India, and the Far East more than 300 years ago. Today it boasts a population of over 3 million people and has become a popular and sought-after holiday destination. Warmed by the African sun, the immense natural beauty of the Cape Peninsula, with its rocky mountain ranges, lush fertile valleys, wine farms, and stretches of magnificent sandy beaches, positions the Cape firmly on the tourist map. Just as two great oceans meet here, the warm Indian with the cool Atlantic, Cape Town's fast-paced urban centre with its vibrant night life and bustling waterfront merges effortlessly with its abundant indigenous beauty, creating the unique flavour for which the Cape has become so well known. |
